Two-time Latin GRAMMY nominee El B (Bian Rodriguez), was a founding member of the legendary Cuban rap duo, Los Aldeanos, and, now as a solo artist, is one of the undeniable leaders of the Latin hip-hop movement.
Born and raised in Cuba, El Bʼs music and lyrical subject matter reach fans way beyond the borders of his native country. His outspoken, uncompromising lyrics and unique voice have spread his message to a global audience. With a career spanning from his first album with Los Aldeanos in 2003 to his Latin GRAMMY nomination for Best Urban Music Album Luz (Light) in 2016, El B has been recognized as a relentlessly revolutionary creative, unafraid to tackle hard core themes, bureaucratic regimes and corruption, while at the same time recognizing and applauding universal human values with equally steadfast beliefs and voice.
El Bʼs consolidation as one the genreʼs most influential rappers is demonstrated by his passionate fan base and followers, notably surpassing the 900 million views on YouTube/ VEVO. A former two-time winner of Red Bullʼs “Batalla de los Gallos”, he recently returned as a judge, along with Residente, Dtoke, Danger and Eptos Uno at Red Bullʼs International Latin Finals in Mexico City. He has collaborated with numerous artists and producers, including hip-hop trailblazer, Talib Kweli, MLKMAN, Danay Suarez, Eptos Uno, and GRAMMY and Latin GRAMMY nominees, Locos por Juana. After 5 released albums as a solo artist, Luz (2016), released under his record label Rock The Moon and his indie imprint, Zen Star Productions, launched his American debut and consecrated him as one of the pioneers of Latin American hip-hop in the U.S. The conscious rapperʼs latest release is Scorpion King Mixtape, featuring collaborations with NK Profeta, Arianna Puello and Maykel Xtremo.
